First, let’s deal with the situation in Germany

On 12 April the German Minister of Health announced a new plan on their road to cannabis legislation. This is to counteract the opposition that the original plan encountered. Legalisation will occur in two phases: First, for personal use, Germans will be permitted to cultivate up to three cannabis plants at home and possess 25 grams of cannabis. Social clubs will also be allowed, where members can legally grow cannabis for adult use in a non-commercial manner. The legal framework for this is expected to be finalized by the end of April 2023. Secondly, regional pilot projects will allow companies to cultivate, distribute, and sell recreational cannabis to adults through licensed and state-controlled shops in designated regions. The goal of these projects is to scientifically investigate the impact of a commercial supply chain on health, youth protection and the black market. The legal framework for this is expected to be finalized by the end of this year. More information can be found here.
